This is going to suck. There is no need to remake it.
Let it go people. Horror is about remakes... and you can't sit there and be like "DURRRRRP STOOPID AMURIKA AND DERE REMAKINGSES" Japan remade King Kong (poorly), Italy remade/ ripped off/ blasphemously sequalized the dead films, the list can go on forever of international incidents.
Your typical American doesn't like subtitles. Culture clashes irritate your general population. And movies are a cash business.
To your typical movie-goer, subtitles are as pretentious as interpretive dance. Its associated with things like black and white plotless French art films from the 40's. Unless its an epic TelToro flick anyway..
How many Dracula, wolfman and Frankenstein remakes were there?
Korea ran around remaking Ringu, Gojira and Superman.
Be glad Rob Zombie isn't the one making it.
You'd have Sherri Moon running around in a thong as a trailer park vampire, screwing the little boy with a massive hillbilly beard to any random Rush album.
This isnt fare. LTROI is a gem of a movie smiled upon by real horror fans. Cant belive hollywood is gonna try to redo this. Cant stand the fact that they think that remaking something like this will make it better. Instead all they do is turn good movies into shit more times than not. This is one of my all time favorites and really pisses me off that they even found this movie let alone thought they could make a better version. All that being said im still gonna see it just because.
Im not all about them remaking this either but stop bashing america....If you don't like our ways then stay away. you dont have to watch it.....it may suck but give it a chance.
Why remake a very well done and original movie ?
Does Hollywood think Americans can't read subtitles ?
Please get a hold of the original film and boycott this crap.

Lightweight, unneccesary American remake. When will Hollywood ever learn??!!
THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE ORIGINAL!!
If people don't have the discipline or the enterprise to watch a subtitled film then that's their problem isn't it? Unfortunately Hollywood leeches and parasites see this laziness as just the excuse they need to tag their names to an already established idea and in this case a brilliant original film. Hacking away and bolting their own retarded, second rate ideas on they pander to these lazy idiots and 'create' a poor, ill 'conceived' plastic version of their own.
Where's the genius and creativity in that??
Also, looking at the new poster - since when have vampires not been able to leave footprints??? RETARDS!!!!
We have a saying in Britain that "if it ain't broke, don't fix it".
Hollywood take heed.
Heres a simple solution for ya bud....just like you told those people who can't read subtitled movies, get over it. You don't like it then don't watch it. Pretend it doesn't exist and BAM!! no shitty american remake.
Completely missing the point but there ya go.....
what! nah very, very bad idea the original was great and does not need to be remaid especially in america. Even the fucking title sounds ridiculous
The original is great because of the european flare and setting, along with the cold isolated setting. This will never work in the USA. Americans need to leave things alone. Not everythign needs to be remade and bastardized by them
Wow, god must really hate me because this is actually happening, this movie is gonna suck so friggin bad , the original is so damn brilliant, damn American remakes!
I've heard nothing but good things about this movie. Myself, I can't get past the subtitles since it is in swedish I tried and kept getting distracting I just am not a good subtitle movie watcher BUT I can't wait to see the english version
Personally Omgosh, i would try to persevere with the subtitles as this film (and others) is so good. I used to hate subtitles many years ago but once i broke the spell i can't tell you what a world it opens up.
...The ONLY relief I have is that IS filmed in my home state New Mexico! Fuck yeah, this place is creepy, maybe it will be filmed up around the north end? The only downside is it loses that creepy Europen city feel...Dracula style
I wonder how this is going to compare to the original
I agree, I loved the original so much, but I doubt the ability of mass American audiences to grasp such a sincerely dark and disturbing film; and therefore the willingness of the director the stick true the core film and fan base. It was so well written and acted, the "familiar" Hollywood casting ALREADY has me worried! "Let the Right One In" light...
