Nicolas Cage stars as a 14th century Crusader who returns with his comrade (Ron Perlman) to a homeland devastated by the Black Plague. A beleaguered church, deeming sorcery the culprit of the plague, commands the two knights to transport an accused witch (Claire Foy) to a remote abbey, where monks will perform a ritual in hopes of ending the pestilence.

A priest (Stephen Campbell Moore), a grieving knight (Ulrich Thomsen), an itinerant swindler (Stephen Graham) and a headstrong youth who can only dream of becoming a knight (Robert Sheehan) join a mission troubled by mythically hostile wilderness and fierce contention over the fate of the girl.

When the embattled party arrives at the abbey, a horrific discovery jeopardizes the knight's pledge to ensure the girl fair treatment, and pits them against an inexplicably powerful and destructive force.

I'd agree The Wicker Man wasn't that good, but the original was pretty shit too, so that was a let down at the time but if you have seen the original then you would realize that was a really tall order for anyone especially the guy who directed it. But this is made by the same guy who worked with nic on Gone in 60 Seconds, I'll watch it! Besides how can you be a horror fan if you wont watch a horror movie with such great actors in it, this is like a breathe of fresh air compared to all the other crappy low grade shit they keep releasing, which really does confuse me, why bring out all this low grade crap like Pontypool, Zombieland and Zombies of mass destruction? they spend millions of dollars to make these piles of maggot shit which come straight to dvd and they never make their money back, they have to be able to tell not many people are going to like them and they are ruining a lot of young actors careers with crap, at least this one can make a career or two, whilst some young actor/s get to work alongside a screen great in Nicolas Cage even if it does turn out to be shit!!!
