Currently still in pre-production, filming is now aimed to begin in February 2024. Director Damien Leone was quoted saying: "We’re assembling our crew; we’re still casting; we’re getting locations in order; special effects are being created; and we’re still working on drafts. It could always be better and tighter: I never stop doing that all the way through production. I’m finally getting to the stage where I’m very excited about it. We’re about to make a movie again, which is my childhood fantasy come true." (12/12/23)

The film will reportedly take place sometime after the events of the mid-credits scene, where an institutionalized Victoria gives birth to Art's head. Here's what Damien Leone had to say: "This one is going to pick up where Part 2 left off, in the insane asylum, so, you’re going to see what transpires there, what mayhem unfolds, because seeing how Art and Victoria ended up, is so insane, and seeing how they get out of that situation and what happens next is going to be really wild." The first trailer for this film will be revealed before showings of Terrifier 2, which is going back to theaters starting on November 1st. The first 100 people at each theater will receive an exclusive poster (which has been leaked and posted above). (10/26/23)

Cineverse will distribute the film theatrically in the US (much like the previous film) before debuting on the Screambox streaming platform. Cineverse chairman and CEO Chris McGurk said the following: "This time, we are planning a wide theatrical release for ‘Terrifier 3’ as we are confident that the film will deliver yet another unparalleled horror experience. We eagerly anticipate the creative vision that Damien and Phil will unleash upon audiences when we bring ‘Terrifier 3’ to the big screen in the fall of 2024." (6/12/23)

Damien Leone revealed more details on the film, saying: "I want to shift back a bit to the tone of Part One, which I felt was a little more simplistic and old school, gritty slasher. I want this one to go back in that direction, and I want this to be the scariest one of the trilogy. This one will actually have a little bit more of an evil overtone to it, so this is going to be hopefully the scariest and the darkest. I want it to feel as if the audience coming into this one isn’t as comfortable with Art the Clown as they feel they are now. I want to see if I can make them really scared of him again." Adding... "I wanted Part Two to have a “Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors” vibe to it. That was my tone in the back of my head and I knew I was really going to embrace this supernatural and fantasy element. I also knew I was going to alienate a handful of fans going that route. I personally love it. There’s a lot of people who didn’t love the fantasy, or at least they need more explanation as to why that’s all happening. I didn’t want to explain everything in Part Two, so I am going to explain as we go. But the biggest mistake I could do now is double-down on that fantasy aspect. That’s why I want to course-correct a bit; let’s go back to “Nightmare on Elm Street” Part One, as opposed to going further into “Dream Warriors.” That could be very helpful criticism and help me make a better movie moving forward. The film is officially in pre-production, with filming expected to begin sometime this November or December with a budget in the "low-mid seven figure range." The bigger budget is "intended to give the filmmakers more creative freedom, and let them be as wild as they can be." David Howard Thornton is expected to return as Art the Clown and Lauren LaVera is also expected to return as Sienna. (5/31/23)

Writer/director Damien Leone had this to say about the sequel: "Terrifier 3 will be another boundary pushing addition to the horror genre, continuing the no holds barred, uncompromising exploits fans of the franchise have come to expect and celebrate. If you thought Art the Clown’s reign of terror in part 2 was extreme, you haven’t seen anything yet." (5/31/23)

Damien Leone had a recent interview where he offered a brief update, saying: "I am writing 'Terrifier 3' as we speak. I definitely want to make at least one more. There may be two to tell this story and tackle all the ideas that I have in my head. Because there's a lot more to explore with Art the Clown, the pale girl, Victoria, and certainly Sienna as our final girl. We will be following her journey to the end of this franchise." (2/2/23)

Not much is known about this project other than the fact that it's in development and creator Damien Leone had this to say about it: "One of my main goals for Terrifier 3 is to recapture the creep factor present in the original Terrifier short film. That had a genuinely spooky atmosphere that I’m still proud of. If all goes as planned, part 3 will be the scariest Terrifier thus far." (12/30/22)

Original writer/director Damien Leone is back once again.

The evil clown in this movie is named "Art the Clown," who initially started out as a character in Damien Leone's 2008 short film, entitled The 9th Circle. He was then brought back in the 2011 short, which had the same title as the feature length movie, Terrifier. The shorts were eventually added into the All Hallow's Eve anthology in 2013.

This is the third entry in the highly successful Terrifier series, where the sequel Terrifier 2, reportedly made over $12-million at the box office against an estimated budget of only $250-thousand.
