I honestly think this movie was frightening.
It was scary.
I love horror/thriller/suspense movies. But damn

i couldn't sleep for like 2 days.

No, not really...the ending in this film was made to end the movie...there's no other reason than that, sorry!
~Your ignorance is what keeps you alive.

people you can't say that stuff like the ending was lame. It's not written to please people it's written to fit the events of that day in the lives of Kirsten McKay and James Hoyt.

A friend tried to defend this to me by saying it was "based on a true story," which may or may not be true because as we all know I doubt half of horror movies that are "based on a true story" actually are. I just think this is another slasher film glorifying violence for violence' sake. "Because you were home" basically clinches my argument. There was no provocation for the violence, no meaning to it, just a couple of redneck psychos having a nice, gory, family outing. I think Hollywood's just grasping for straws now. This movie should go down in the annals of Hollywood with Waterworld, where it belongs.

I really think a more brutal ending would've made the movie a hell of a lot better! The Stranger's should've guttted them and hung them up on the tree's outside! Much more of an ominous image!!!
I really like the the last line too "Next time it'll be easier..."! Creepy!!!

GOD! This was a great movie! It starts off kind of slow but thats in every movie ever made so dont whine about it and it builds up actually very fast, not a big intro which was surprising and good. So, three big bad guys, all masked and very odd...to say the least. The best part, you dont need pop out scenes in the movie. Its all ominous except a few pop out scenes and some banging but that just makes it better. What I also like...is that could really happen! I never want to go live in a house near a fu**ing forest. And what really gets me is the life like in the people. Thats how people would really act in that kind of situation instead of all the other horror films where they know exactly what to do and always win. You also really feel for the people....Awesome movie...I urge everyone to buy it

GARBAGE!...It had potential when it started. A lot of it. But as it kept going on I got more and more bored with it. The anticipation factor that they put in it started off well and then it just fu*king drags on....and on. Liv Tyler put on a horrible performance, except when she was freaked out and crying hard. That part was good. The way that the strangers started messing with the couple, again, started off really good. But then I just wanted them to kill them and get the movie over with. Three quarters of the way through I wanted my money back but I stuck it out to see how the strangers were going to kill the couple and I was really dissappointed!!....So basically....it sucked!

This film left much to be desired, although it was a pretty impressive ride as far as it went. So much more thought, love, and care could've gone into the script and the story but this is otherwise a decent attempt at a good horror movie and I am able to successfully accept it for what it is. One of the better films of recent times, it seems that there still are a few bugs in the horror movie system to work out before Hollywood or anyone else for that fact can produce a great horror film among the likes of Texas Chainsaw and NOES! I'm definately buying this when it comes out!
