I have to disagree with most of the other reviews on this one. I mean, in todays world things are so messed up that, real life is more scary than the horror movies that used to give us chills. We're not exactly flooded with great movies anymore, this one was a little cliche, but was decent, and had one of the strongest endings I've seen in a horror film in a while. The acting was actually good, also the storyline was well played. I can honestly say I wasn't able to completely guess the end. I found it to be a very nice change of pace in our horror film market these days. I gave it a strong 8 out of 10. I liked it a lot and gurantee this one will be better than most of the others you'll probably give a chance this year.

Once again the American people show their ethnocentrism by remaking, remaking and remaking everything that is slightly distant from their own bellybuttons. If the characters are Korean in the original, lets get some good old American stereotypical people in here. If they speak in a different language and that makes us read subtitles... Jesus no! Let's make a whole new movie! God knows it's so hard keeping up with the fast white phrases that appear at the bottom of the screen (makes head hurt). I could go on, and on, and on about the stupidity and horrible redundancy of making remakes especially just because the original is foreign... I understand it's good for economy and that Hollywood has a lot of workforce that sit around on their asses waiting for some project to work on like bee drones without any personal judgment or any artistic creativity... But why lord, why are Americans so god damn brain lazy?

this movie was ok ! honestly the big twist at the end i easily guess !
(SPOILER) its easy because Arielle Kebbel charactor can only be herd Anna and know 1 else for example when shes talking to her father hes paying no attention to her !

JU-ON,THE GRUDGE, ONE MISSED CALL,THE EYE,DARK WATER,THE MESSANGERS. im sick of it these movies are taking up valuabal theatre space when they could just be making TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE PART 7.

at least in the original, they cared more about the story* instead of making the leads wear bikinis for 95% of the movie. at least that's what the trailer is making me believe *rolls eyes*

This looks like they are trying to explain too much. The best thing about the orignial was the mystery aspect. You always got something different. I really dig Elizabeth Banks but when I heard about the remake I really hoped they would have gone with Elaine Hendrix,,, she is PERFECT for that role.....!!!!

A Tale of Two Sisters is one of my all time faves I can't believe this is happening to another good movie. I wish they'd just stop with the remakes. To many good movies have been butchered :(

To Heather:
I completely agree. Why can't anyone read subtitles ? I can't tell you how many times one of my friends or family members refused to watch an AMAZING film simply because they have to read the subtitles. It's annoying. Then they go watch the remake and are like "Oh my Goddd ! It was soooo scaryyy ! You HAVE to see itt !" when it really blew huge chunks. And yes, Heather, A Tale of Two Sisters is an amazing film. Very beautifully filmed, and the atmosphere is amazing. Now, to the people who say this is going to suck because of the rating; Remember The Skeleton Key ? It was rated PG-13, and it was great. So give this film a chance, if it isn't good, then be negative. It's only fair.

The name change seems pretty weird. I love the original title. Plus I'm getting a little tired of horror movie titles that are "The <insert one half descriptive word here>". Oh well, no biggie but I'll still call it by the original title. I always go watch these stupid remakes expecting glory but they almost always suck. Regardless, I'll go see this. If nothing else, I can whine about how much they ruined the original. Maybe we'll luck up though. Even a blind squirrel finds a nut once in awhile.

The original "A Tale Of Two Sisters" was a masterpiece! Everything about it was simply breathtaking. It is almost heartbreaking to see Hollywood destroy one of Asian horror's finest films. I ask, where has all the creativity gone in this country?!

Do they think changing the name of this is going to stop people from finding out it's a remake? Hollywood is stupid and needs to stop remaking other countries' [and their own!] horror movies. Are we too dumb to read subtitles?
That being said, I haven't see A Tale of Two Sisters yet. Is it any good?

PLEASE JUST STOP!!!! I know people are like "...well if you don't like, it don't watch..." And of course I WON'T. But that not the only problem with horrifyingly bad remakes. It's the whole fact that they seem to be taking up the entire horror genre in theaters. I mean granted get the original, watch it at home and save your money, but then we are all couch potatoes. People should get out more and be able to enjoy a movie on the big screen that does not try to lower our IQ in the process. I mean granted we all need to hit up museums and other cultural institutions to expand our minds, but what about our imaginations? What Hollywood is offering now only stunts its growth and leaves people dumber coming out that when they went in. I just feel that you don't have to copy remakes word for word and person for person. All they need to remember is to keep the same effects and emotions that the original brought out in the first place. Or just bring the the original out with better subtitles to avoid a fiasco. Americans really do need to enjoy reading, even in movies too.Trust me reading subtitles really does help build faster readers.
