Carter Smith is a great director. If you like this film, which I did, you definately need to check out his film debut Bugcrush. It's a gay-themed short tension filled thriller and frankly, one of the most twisted films I've seen Do not let the gay theme turn you off, it is amazing. As for The Ruins, Carter Smith surely looses style and story credits for this film. However, it does deliever a lot of decent scenes and beautiful scenery. I look forward to see what else Carter Smith comes out with next.

i thought this movie was decent,. only rented it for a buck so couldn't go to wrong. the actors did a good job with the script and the direction was good. i thought there was just enough blood and gore to keep the story going. i also thought there where major plot holes and could see a few ways they could of escaped. there where also a couple of scene's that made me jump, and i haven't had that in a movie in a long time. just a nice time waster, so grab some popcorn and soda and enjoy.
