No official plot yet, but it will likely take place sometime after the events of the first, with the character "Moses" returning to once again battle the alien creatures.

Edgar Wright (Shaun of the Dead, Last Night in Soho, The Running Man), who executive-produced the first movie, gave a very brief update via a Reddit AMA revealing that Joe Cornish has written the sequel and hopes to finally make it next year. (11/12/25)
Co-writer/director Joe Cornish gave a brief update on the project, saying: "The nice thing about the first movie was, nobody was expecting it. Nobody knew who John [Boyega] was or who I was, certainly, outside of UK comedy circles. And we put a lot of work into the first one! Obviously, I can make stuff up about aliens quite easily, but the other stuff - the aspects of reality that we folded the fantasy into - we did a lot of research for, and so we are currently doing that same thing. We have a very detailed treatment and a storyline we're very, very excited about - and when I say 'we,' I mean me and John Boyega, who [I'm co-producing the film with] and consulting very closely with - and we're doing all the research to make sure we get it right." He added... "This very afternoon I spent two hours [interviewing] someone whose life intersects with one element of the story, and when we're done here I'm gonna go home and transcribe that. So, we're doing our due diligence in building the screenplay and taking the same amount of care we took with the first one ... but we're very, very quietly confident and excited about what we've got. We think about Alien and Aliens and Terminator and Terminator 2, and we wanna take a shot at doing our version of what people did for [those movies]." (1/25/23)
Not only does John Boyega once again star in this sequel, but he's also a producer and has been heavily involved in the writing process with director Joe Cornish. Boyega offered an update on the project in a recent interview, saying: "[The writing] process has been fantastic. The story has actually been presented by myself and Joe Cornish. We’ve collaborated heavily on making a story that makes sense for Moses and the other characters, and the new characters that will be coming up in the sequel too. And then, also, there’s different perspectives in writing it, with Joe having his perspective and me having mine. London has changed so much, in so many different ways, over the years since the first movie. We’re just tryin’ to make sure we explore all of that, while bringing in a whole different vibe to that crazy ass first movie that we made." Adding... "It’s now about aging the [Moses] character slightly and seeing where he’s at now." As far as when production will actually begin, he said: "We’re quite close. We’re gettin’ there. Obviously, we don’t wanna release no dates to anybody because we wanna take care of the creative process. We have the main spine of the story, but we’re still in the lab, just making sure the story is right. Story is everything. But it won’t be too long. I’ve given them the drums to speed up the process. Hopefully soon, we’ll have an announcement for when we’ll be around London, messin’ stuff up." (8/29/22)
John Boyega was quoted saying: "It’s been a decade since Attack the Block was released and so much has changed since then. I’m excited to see this heightened story return to the streets of London. Moses has remained one of my favourite characters to play and bringing him back is a huge honour." (5/17/21)
John Boyega returns as "Moses." There's currently no word on if any other characters will be returning.
Joe Cornish returns to write and direct. Cornish was quoted saying: "I’m thrilled we’re officially announcing our return to the world of Attack the Block on the tenth anniversary of the film’s release. I can’t wait to work alongside John again, bringing audiences an even bigger slice of inner-city alien action." (5/17/21)
This movie has been discussed for years by actor John Boyega and director Joe Cornish, but it just wasn't the right time to move forward, until now.
This is a sequel to the 2011 creature feature, Attack the Block.
