PROJECT DETAILS:
Director Marcus Dunstan had a recent interview where he details that there may still be hope for the movie, saying: "You know, I wouldn't waste anyone's hopes, especially my own, and we've got hope. Here's what's great, there are folks working on getting that back and it's just taken a long time. It's been slow and I think there's a lot of things to untangle, but we're going to use our time to hope that it all works out, because we got a chance. The coolest thing is you don't know all the time if, when you get out, this lofty goal will work. So it's like, there's no reason to do another one unless it can be the best one. Then, man, we get this tease back after going like, 'Holy cow!' We never stopped talking and thinking in this universe and it was like, 'Okay, there's something here that I would fall on the sword for every day' and I love that, that felt right. So that also keeps my hopes way high, I'm dreaming for it. I want to do that, I think that would be great." (6/6/22)

It appears that the production of this film is currently unknown, as it was recently revealed that they never completed filming on the project. In fact, they only filmed for a week before production was shut down, so any media such as pictures from the film are reportedly only from that week of filming. Here's what director Marcus Dunstan and co-writer Patrick Melton had to say about this: "Well, we shot for eight days, and then it was shut down. I invested in this thing, I'd like to know what's happening. We stopped hearing from anybody with the production. I know most of the props I brought there have been stolen. I would think that anybody else who invested in this movie that thinks that it's happening, wouldn't they like to know what's happening? .. All calls and emails have gone unanswered .. When you can't get anyone on the phone and you don't hear anything, at this point, I'm really pissed off."

Adding.. "We actually stopped shooting in 2019. That was two years ago, and we only shot eight days, so [there's only been] very, very little shot. Anything that's been released has been from that time period, and there's no plans to start shooting it. We haven't talked to anyone who was in the production... we'd love to finish it, but, I don't know. We're not the producers, so we don't know."

Unfortunately the producers own the rights, so the filmmakers can't move forward until they greenlight resuming production, but even that would prove cumbersome since much of the props and sets have been removed or stolen, which would result in having to almost start back from scratch. Until something else is revealed, this project is currently in an unknown development stage. (4/6/21)

Filmed in Atlanta.

It's said that the film is "going to triple down on the grit and suspense we had in the first Collector."

It's believed that Josh Stewart will return again as "Arkin" and Emma Fitzpatrick returns as "Elena."

Marcus Dunstan and Patrick Melton return to write, with Marcus directing once again.

This is the third film in The Collector trilogy, with the first in 2009, followed by The Collection in 2012.
