One of the film's producers was quoted saying: "This film is based on a true story and that truth is chilling. It is an honor and a challenge to bring Doris’s raw and terrifying experiences to the screen with care and dignity. So proud to be part of this film. This is an elevated horror film that blends emotional depth with real-life terror, and we believe it will deeply resonate with both genre fans and new audiences alike."
Directed by Nick Simon (The Girl in the Photographs, Truth or Dare, Karma).
Written by Thomas Fenton (Saw IV, I Spit on Your Grave 2).
Described as a "high-concept, emotionally resonant horror film" and being in the vein of movies like The Conjuring and Hereditary.
Based on the real life 1974 "Doris Bither case," which was an investigation into alleged paranormal phenomena in Culver City, California, experienced by a woman named Doris Bither. The case would inspire the 1978 book The Entity from author Frank De Felitta. The book would later be adapted into the 1982 film with the same name that starred Barbara Hershey.
