Actress Jessica Rothe is expected to return as Tree Gelbman.
Christopher Landon is expected to return as director.
The film's story is rumored to take place on a different day than the previous installments.
There have been ideas thrown around of a potential crossover with 2020's Freaky, which Christopher Landon also wrote and directed.
At one point the studio considered a three-part limited series that would've been released exclusively through Peacock, but plans for that ultimately fell through.
The working title for this film is reportedly Happy Death Day to Us.
There was already talks of a potential third film around the release of the second movie, but due to Happy Death Day 2U underperforming at the box office the studio was hesitant to move forward. That didn't stop Christopher Landon from writing an outline for the third movie, which he's been sitting on until the studio officially greenlit the project.
This is the third installment in the Happy Death Day series, which started with the 2017 film and was followed up by Happy Death Day 2U in 2019.
