No official plot yet, but the original revolved around a ventriloquist, who is at the mercy of his vicious dummy while he tries to renew a romance with his high school sweetheart.

It looks like this project is officially moving forward with Sam Raimi producing. Mark Swift and Damian Shannon (duo behind Freddy vs. Jason and the Friday the 13th remake) are set to script. It was originally reported that Raimi would also direct, but at the moment he seems to only be producing the project. Not much else known since it's still early days and a script has yet to be written. (9/3/25)
This project is in the "talking stages," as nothing official has been released except for some talk by producer Roy Lee in which he reveals that he's working on this project with Sam Raimi directing. A script has yet to be written. (9/28/22)
The original is based on the 1976 novel by William Goldman, who also wrote the script.
This is a remake of the 1978 movie with the same name that starred a young Anthony Hopkins.
