No official plot yet, but the game revolved around a former employee of Playtime Co., who revisits an abandoned Playtime toy factory in hopes of uncovering the mystery behind the disappearance of the entire staff 10 years prior. It's said that this movie will be a new standalone story from the game.

The production studio Legendary has reportedly beaten several competitors to help develop and produce this movie. It's not known if Studio71 is still involved in the production. (5/9/24)
This project is in the early development stage, but the studio is reportedly fast-tracking it and already sending it out to filmmakers. (4/27/22)

Their vision for this game is a vivid tapestry that allows the space for feature films that don’t retread on the narrative’s gameplay. Fans of this franchise are in store for a new storyline that stands alone as its own terrifying and gripping saga."
Mob Games and Studio71 are also in early talks to bring aboard producer Roy Lee (IT, IT: Chapter Two, The Boy, Poltergeist, Blair Witch). (4/27/22)
