In the new film, Riddick finally returns to his home world, a place he barely remembers and one he fears might be left in ruins by the Necromongers. But there he finds other Furyans fighting for their existence against a new enemy. And some of these Furyans are more like Riddick than he could have ever imagined.

Filming is set to finally begin August 26th in Germany, Spain and the U.K.. (5/6/24)
It looks like this project is finally moving forward with David Twohy back to direct from his own script. Twohy was quoted saying: "Our legion fans have demanded it for years, and now we’re finally ready to honor their call to action with Riddick: Furya. My collaboration with Vin and One Race has spanned 20 fruitful years, as together we’ve created three movies, two video games, an anime production, and motion comics for the internet. This new big-screen event will see a return to Riddick’s homeworld, where we finally get to explore Riddick’s genesis." Vin Diesel also returns as Riddick and will produce via his One Race Films banner. (2/12/23)
Vin Diesel continues to keep the project alive, recently posting a storyboard shot on his Instagram. It's still unclear when the project will officially move forward, but considering how busy he is with the Fast and Furious movies, it'll be a while. (5/17/22)
Vin Diesel offered a brief update on the project via social media that suggests the project may be moving forward sometime soon. Here's what he had to say: "Incredible meeting today, thanks team you know who you are… Let’s just say Furia may be closer than you think." (9/28/21)
Vin Diesel offered another update on the project in a recent interview, saying: "[Director] David Twohy, he wrote a great script. It's just a matter of timing when we get that opportunity to shoot that. But I believe we're shooting that in Australia. And it would be the fourth chapter in that series, which would be awesome." Adding... "but definitely, the [movie's] script is already written. So it's safe to say that we are moving towards filming the fourth chapter of Riddick." (6/29/21)
Vin Diesel gave a brief update recently, letting fans on social media know that "The latest Chronicles of Riddick script comes in next week," which seems to indicate that the script has undergone rewrites since the last update almost a year ago. (5/4/20)
This project is in the early stages of development as a script has only recently been completed and still needs to be signed off by the studio before moving forward. (7/23/19)
