IFC Films distributes in the US. The head of IFC Entertainment Group Scott Shooman said the following: "The film is a dark, twisted, and riotous action comedy, with a killer cast – a perfect recipe to delight audiences on the big screen."
Director Jorma Taccone had this to say about being picked up by IFC for distribution: "I am THRILLED to have Independent Film Company as a partner on releasing OVER YOUR DEAD BODY. I am equally pumped to have audiences watch this movie in real live theaters and love that IFC understands how important it is for a movie this kick ass and full of twists to have a real theatrical release. If I have a third child, I’m probably going to name it IFC!"
Previously had the same title as the original, The Trip.

This is a remake of the 2021 Norwegian movie The Trip from director Tommy Wirkola (Dead Snow, Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters, Violent Night).
