This project is officially moving forward with Dylan Clark directing and revising a script by Chris Devlin. It's also reported that stars of the original movie Joshua Leonard and Michael C. Williams will executive produce, alongside the first movie's filmmaking team of Eduardo Sánchez, Daniel Myrick and Gregg Hale. Despite the original spawning a sequel and a 2016 follow-up, this marks the first time the original stars and filmmakers will actually be involved in the development process. No word if the Heather Donahue (another co-star of the original) will be involved, but it seems unlikely as she has reportedly left Hollywood years ago and has legally changed her name. Atomic Monster's James Wan and Blumhouse's Jason Blum are producing. Filming is aimed for sometime this Fall with an estimated budget of $10-million. (4/30/26)
Hollywood insider Daniel Richtman reports that up-and-coming filmmaker Dylan Clark is set to helm this movie. Clark is currently developing a full length version of his short film Portrait of God with Sam Raimi and Jordan Peele producing. (4/1/26)
