This Week's Notable Horror: 01/12 - 01/18


It looks like this week offers close to a dozen new titles for fans to check out. Some notable ones are the horror-fantasy DUST BUNNY, which lands on VOD today, while Friday offers a couple interesting theatrical releases: 28 DAYS LATER: THE BONE TEMPLE and the vampire flick NIGHT PATROL. Check below for everything coming this week.

DOCTOR PLAGUE
MONDAY - JANUARY 12th (VOD)

Cynical London detective John Verney (Kemp) is on the trail of an ominous masked serial killer cutting a swathe through London under the guise of a 17th century Plague Doctor. As the bodies pile up, John faces scrutiny from his superior (Yip) who dismisses the crimes as gang killings. To make matters worse, journalists, desperate for a news story, are fearmongering with explosive headlines and outlandish social media videos encouraging public unrest. As the pressure mounts, John falls into a terrifying web of deception and deadly rituals involving secret cults, Jack the Ripper and the Plague Doctors of old. When his son is kidnapped and his colleagues turn against him, John must take the law into his own hands, risking everything to uncover the ancient evil lurking within the tunnels beneath the city.

TUESDAY - JANUARY 13th (VOD)

During the World Cup final between Argentina and Holland, in times of military dictatorship, a group of torturers violently breaks into a home and kidnaps a group of young people to take them to a clandestine detention center. What begins as an inhumane interrogation turns into a true martyrdom: the wrong group of people have been kidnapped. They turn out to be part of a macabre cult guided by an unknown supernatural force. The clandestine detention center will become hell itself...

DUST BUNNY
TUESDAY - JANUARY 13th (VOD)

Ten-year-old Aurora has a mysterious neighbor (Mads Mikkelsen) who kills real-life monsters. He’s a hit man for hire. So, when Aurora needs help killing the monster she believes ate her entire family, she procures his services. Suspecting that her parents may have fallen victim to assassins gunning for him, Aurora’s neighbor guiltily takes the job. Now, to protect her, he’ll need to battle an onslaught of assassins ― and accept that some monsters are real.

28 YEARS LATER: THE BONE TEMPLE
FRIDAY - JANUARY 16th (Theaters)

In a continuation of the epic story, Dr. Kelson (Ralph Fiennes) finds himself in a shocking new relationship - with consequences that could change the world as they know it - and Spike's (Alfie Williams) encounter with Jimmy Crystal (Jack O'Connell) becomes a nightmare he can't escape. In the world of The Bone Temple, the infected are no longer the greatest threat to survival - the inhumanity of the survivors can be stranger and more terrifying.

An LAPD officer must put aside his differences with the area’s street gangs when he discovers a local police task force is harboring a horrific secret that endangers the residents of the housing projects he grew up in.

THE RAVEN
FRIDAY - JANUARY 16th (VOD)

In a 1940’s dark and eerie setting, the story delves into Guy's descent into madness mere hours after the burial of his loved one, as he is tormented by supernatural encounters and memories of his lost love. Based on the works of Edgar Allan Poe.
