There are over a dozen new releases to catch this week. Notable entries include the Giallo-inspired DEATH CYCLE and Luc Besson's DRACULA remake, both of which land on VOD tomorrow. If we fast-forward to Friday (the 13th) we see a majority of the releases, like the found footage flick BODYCAM on Shudder, the VOD release for the zombie movie THIS IS NOT A TEST and limited theatrical debuts for THE GATES starring James Van Der Beek (in his final role) and teen body horror SLANTED. Also in theaters Friday is the supernatural pic UNDERTONE from A24. Check below for everything notable releasing this week.

Two police officers investigate a domestic dispute and there is an accidental shooting. Not wanting to be crucified by the public, the officers attempt to cover it up, only to uncover that the cameras aren't the only things watching them.

Actors rehearsing at the mysterious Heissenhoff theater face a deadly threat when a masked killer appears. The theater, play, and murders are revealed to be part of an occult ritual.

THE GATES

The Gates follows three college students -- Derek, Kevin, and Tyon (Gooding, Smith, and Powers) on a road trip gone wrong, as the three young men take an ill-advised shortcut through a remote gated community, where they find themselves trapped behind the walls after witnessing a murder. Over the course of the night, they find themselves blamed, hunted, and fractured by their own differing belief systems, while the perpetrator—James Van Der Beek, at his most charming and terrifying—emerges as the cunning patriarch that holds the entire community under his influence.

SCARED TO DEATH
