Poor Bill. He lives in a dirty apartment, broke up with his love Jenny, quit his band, is running dangerously low on his medication and has a dead body in the bathtub. Not a good time to be Bill.

This very low budget thriller from Marcus Koch still holds up to a bleak and sad existence that is quite relatable. When left all alone without family, very few friends and trust is a leading issue in every relationship…where do you turn?

After a long night at a bar mixing medication and alcohol, stoic Bill (Graham) sits on his stoop trying to recollect the bloody actions that lead to a corpse decomposing in his tub. Who is she? How did she die? And more importantly…what part did Bill have in her death?

While fanatically cleaning up the spattered bathroom in various flashbacks, Bill neurotically calls his ex Jenny (Walters) in 5-10 min intervals or…approximately 180 times from what can be seen. As each call goes directly to her sing-song voicemail, Bill’s frenzied demeanor eventually tires him out and he crashes.

Awakened by his best friend Derrick (Day), Bill finds some solace in confiding in his little dilemma…what to do about a dead body in the tub? Derrick provides 3 important characteristics to the table: humor, comradery, and poor dancing skills. However, he remains by his friend’s side offering suggestions to help cover up this fatal accident. What a friend!

Bill’s constant discouragement with his life manifests into a moment of delirium and sets up for a twisted ending.  Although slightly predictable, it still delivers.

Koch brought out a preemptive day of despair that Bill is forced to comprehend. Although it takes a long time to acknowledge, it ultimately becomes the terminating factor of his sad existence.

OVERALL:
It’s a gradual build up to discover who is in the tub, more so than who killed the girl in the tub. Stick with it, through Bill’s humdrum routine of cooking eggs, calling Jenny and restless naps – it adds up to a startling realization that you don’t want to miss.
