What a treat to open with a naked Jody Barton running through the woods and into the arms of his long-lost love, Marjorie (Hamilton) that ends in a bloody scene within tangled antlers grasping his face. The nightmare wakes Jon (Barton) abruptly when he realizes it’s just anticipation in seeing Marjorie for a weekend hunting trip with his buddy, Frank (Ireland).

The threesome hasn’t been together in years and their quick reunion starts with a bonfire ghost story relating to the Mayan symbols found on the walls in the cabin. Upon the early morning hours chasing buck in the forest, Jon and Frank both begin hallucinating, sharing doubts and behaving wilder than the prey they’re hunting. Jon is a haunted man who carries distress and regret openly. When voices and images begin to flash crudely in sight, tragedy befalls him as he unloads his shotgun into…unfortunately…Frank.

But no need to fret, as Jon races back to the cabin only to find a very pissed off Frank who accuses him of murder and abandonment.

What began as a friendly outing, (albeit a fight for one woman’s affection), turns into a game of “An Eye for an Eye” as both men go back and forth in gory executions. Consider if Groundhog Day married Happy Death Day, had a baby and put it on loop. What a fun infant to watch in development, huh?

There are many ways to kill a man. Jon and Frank have discovered some awesome tactics including guns, knives, machetes, axes and eventually an advancement to the almighty chainsaw. Gruesome and yet entertaining as hell!

So how do these men end the ongoing massacre of each other? Does Marjorie hold the key?

Even as Frank sits calmly with a missing limb to discuss the violent day spent killing Jon (and vice versus), the eeriness is still riding thick in the air as they try to figure out what is causing this unbelievable chaos. But that still doesn’t stop the slaughters from continuing with glee!
