Michael Chaves (The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It, The Nun 2) is in negotiations to direct with filming aimed to begin sometime this Summer in Atlanta.
James Wan offered a brief update on the status of the project, revealing that he's still working closely to make sure they get things right, saying: "Yeah, we are working on it right now. With the Conjuring films, we are very precious about [them]. And so we kind of want to just take our time to make sure we get it right and to make sure the emotion of the Warren stories that we want to tell, and moving into, and potentially wrapping up, we just want to make sure that it's the right thing, the right story that we're telling." When asked if it'll be the last installment, his response was: "We never know. You never know. We'll see." (1/02/23)
While they haven't officialy signed on, Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga are expected to return as Ed and Lorraine Warren.
Written by David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick (Orphan, Orphan: First Kill, Aquaman, The Conjuring 2, The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It), who makes his directorial debut.

This is the fourth and reportedly final installment in The Conjuring franchise, which has crossed the $2-billion mark after the last movie.
