This Week's Notable Horror: 12/22 - 12/28

With Christmas just days away it's no surprise to see that this week's new releases are very scarce. In fact, only a few titles are coming out, namely FIVE NIGHTS AT FREDDY'S 2, which lands on PVOD tomorrow, while the ANACONDA remake hits theaters on Thursday, Christmas day. Check below for everything releasing this week.

NOTE: This is not a comprehensive list (there's simply too much to keep track of), but it is a list of the more notable movies to look out for. If you spot an error or if a movie is missing from the list, contact me. Also, keep in mind that these are US release dates, so they may differ if you're in another country.

FIVE NIGHTS AT FREDDY'S 2
TUESDAY - DECEMBER 23rd (PVOD)

One year has passed since the supernatural nightmare at Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza. The stories about what transpired there have been twisted into a campy local legend, inspiring the town’s first ever Fazfest. Former security guard Mike (Josh Hutcherson) and police officer Vanessa (Elizabeth Lail) have kept the truth from Mike’s 11-year-old sister, Abby (Piper Rubio), concerning the fate of her animatronic friends. But when Abby sneaks out to reconnect with Freddy, Bonnie, Chica, and Foxy, it will set into motion a terrifying series of events, revealing dark secrets about the true origin of Freddy’s, and unleashing a long-forgotten horror hidden away for decades.

THE PLAGUE
WEDNESDAY - DECEMBER 24th (Limited)

At an all-boys water polo camp, a socially awkward 12-year-old is pulled into a cruel tradition targeting an outcast with an illness they call “The Plague.” As he endures the ruthless hierarchy, his anxiety spirals into psychological turmoil while the lines between game and reality blur, and he fears the joke might be hiding something real.

ANACONDA
THURSDAY - DECEMBER 25th (Theaters)

Doug (Jack Black) and Griff (Paul Rudd) have been best friends since they were kids, and have always dreamed of remaking their all-time favorite movie: the cinematic "classic" Anaconda. When a midlife crisis pushes them to finally go for it, they head deep into the Amazon to start filming. But things get real when an actual giant anaconda appears, turning their comically chaotic movie set into a deadly situation. The movie they’re dying to make? It might just get them killed......
