We've got another slow week of releases, with just over half a dozen new titles to check out. Leading the pack are the teen witch flick FORBIDDEN FRUITS and the action-horror entry THEY WILL KILL YOU, both debuting on VOD today. Meanwhile, Friday brings the shark thriller DEEP WATER and HOKUM—from Caveat and Oddity director Damian McCarthy—to theaters.

My expectations for this horror comedy were very high, and I'm still disappointed by what it failed to deliver—humor! None whatsoever! I was hoping for something reminiscent of a Scream-style Halloween slasher.

Kicking things off, today brings an unusual Monday VOD release with the sci-fi horror comedy WEEKEND AT THE END OF THE WORLD. Jason Segel is back onscreen, and this time…he’s getting badly beaten in a hilarious comedy horror starring Samara Weaving, Timothy Olyphant and Juliette Lewis. Who would’ve thought that this comedic actor could hold his own in such an intensely barbaric film?
