No official plot yet, but it'll follow the events of the first film and will reportedly "explore what happens to the victims of this kind of violence and who the perpetrators are of this kind of violence. Where are they coming from and why?"

Renny Harlin (Deep Blue Sea, Mindhunters, Exorcist: The Beginning, Devil's Pass) directs all three films in the new trilogy.
Written by Alan R. Cohen and Alan Freedland (duo that wrote several eps of King of the Hill and the movie Due Date).
This is the second installment in a new trilogy of films. It will be followed by The Strangers: Chapter 3.
