Follows a group of unsuspecting campers who remove a locket from what was meant to be its final resting place. Buried within the rubble of a crumbled fire tower, the friends stumble upon the shiny piece of jewelry but don’t realize that upon releasing it from the ground, they’ve also stirred up a malevolent spirit who perished alongside the locket 60 years ago. Desperate to find his prized possession by any means necessary, Johnny rises from his grave and hunts down those who disturbed his peace.

Shudder debuts the movie via their streaming service in 2024.
Samuel Zimmerman, Shudder’s vice president of programming was quoted saying: "In a Violent Nature is a tremendous new slasher. We’re thrilled for you to meet Johnny, whose reign of terror honors the iconic subgenre while taking audiences on a singular and brutal new journey within it. Chris Nash’s bold perspective represents the best of Shudder, marrying the genre’s traditions with its exhilarating next steps."
One of the film's producers was quoted saying: "Nash’s vision cuts between the atmospheric creeping dread of ‘Skinamarink’ and the shocking gore of ‘When Evil Lurks,’ both Shudder Originals, so this is truly a match made in horror heaven."
It's said that the killer's mask in the film is inspired by "the Vejan-Bader Smoke Mask that was used by 19th century firefighters" and the killer himself is "ultimately akin to a predator defending its territory."
