This Week's Notable Horror: 09/01 - 09/07

It's now the first week of September and we've sadly hit a slump in terms of new releases. Aside from a few indie flicks landing on demand, not much is coming out this week. My guess is there aren't many movies willing to compete with THE CONJURING: LAST RITES, which opens in theaters this Friday. Check below for everything notable releasing soon.

Captors (2020)

Imagine escaping one of the most abhorrently horrific situations that is currently expanding on a global scale, only to be unknowingly walking back into that literal house of horrors many years later.

This Week's Notable Horror: 08/25 - 08/31

We've got several interesting notable releases this week, especially for fans who might've missed'em in theaters. Specifically, THE HOME starring Pete Davidson lands on VOD tomorrow. Also reportedly releasing tomorrow is the new I KNOW WHAT YOU DID LAST SUMMER movie and the body horror flick TOGETHER starring Dave Franco and Alison Brie. Both of which will debut on PVOD.

A Serbian Documentary (2025)

In 2010, director Srdjan Spasojevic and writer Aleksandar Radivojevic released their first movie, A Serbian Film. Neither had any idea whatsoever at the time, the amount of controversy and outrage that this would provoke including an almost global ban on the product.

This Week's Notable Horror: 08/18 - 08/24

We've got another decent week of new releases with more than a handful of flicks to watch. Namely, the found footage movie HOUSE ON EDEN lands on VOD tomorrow (after a short theatrical run) and Wednesday sees the limited theatrical release of HELL HOUSE LLC: LINEAGE.

Sleep Stalker (2025)

Sleep Stalker is basically a reinvented, regenerated and refurbished Paranormal Activity complete with moving items, doors opening/closing, loud noises in the dark and of course, a little human possession.

Hemet, or the Landlady Don't Drink Tea (2024)

The United States first caught wind of bath salts thanks to the “Miami Cannibal” attack in May 2012 when a man in a zombie-like state, attacked a couple in their home and tried to eat their faces.

Only in Florida, am I right?  

This Week's Notable Horror: 08/11 - 08/17

We have another decent batch of new movies to catch this week. Namely, DIE'CED: RELOADED finds its way to VOD tomorrow after a limited theatrical run last week. While on the topic of limited theatrical runs, this Friday sees some notable releases hitting theaters, like the sci-fi horror flick DESCENDENT, the horror comedy JIMMY AND STIGGS and the WITCHBOARD remake.
